OK I need help! My kitchen in KY is lacking in many ways. I need your EASY recipes please! I need recipes like Taco Soup where you open cans and pour it in. I don't have ANY spices and while I don't mind buying a few I don't want to buy weird ones that you only use once in a while. OK so please, please send me your really easy recipes that you like. Please do me this favor and help me feed my poor starving family! :)
**Because she is so wonderful my friend Jeri sent me this link to the website "Recipes on the Run." It looks like the perfect website for fast, easy, good meals. A few of my old standbys are on there. It helped me remember some of them. Thanks Jeri. Hopefully this helps anyone in their "what's for dinner" dilemma.

Okay, first, you need like, 8 boxes of Sudafed. Got it? Then about 4 boxes of baking soda. Got it?
ReplyDeleteOkay this next stuff is kinda tricky to get your hands on, but Stewart may be able to shake-down some local junkies with his AK: About 6 grams of Coke (not cola).
Now, what you do is cook all this stuff together in some tinfoil...the final product should keep you going for at least 3 weeks without any food!

ReplyDeleteThis is really good - the kids always like it. You need 2-3 chicken breasts, cut into strips or chunks, a package of Stovetop chicken stuffing, a can of cream-of-something soup and about 1/2 cup of milk.
ReplyDeletePour 1 cup of water over the stuffing mix and let it sit so the bread crumbs soak up the water. Stir the soup and the milk together. Put the chicken strips in a casserole dish and pour the soup over it. Sprinkle the moistened stuffing over the top. Bake at 350 for about an hour or until the chicken is done and the topping is browned.
You need 4 chicken breasts, a jar of apricot jam and a bottle of Dijon mustard. Cut the chicken into strips (or just buy chicken tenders if they're on sale!) and put into a casserole dish. Pour the jam and mustard over them and mix. Bake for 1 hour or until chicken is done. Jam and mustard will make a nice glaze for the meat. Serve with rice.
ReplyDeleteMake skewers of chicken/beef, cherry tomatoes, zucchini or yellow squash (people have it coming out of their ears in their gardens) peppers, onions.... any veggies you can get your hands on. Spray with cooking spray and sprinkle with salt and pepper before you grill them (or lay the skewers over a cookie sheet and bake them if you don't have a grill.

1 can italian stewed tomatoes (diced)
1 can black beans, drained
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1-2 chicken breasts cooked/diced
1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional if you like things cheesier)
Mix together. Mmmm. It's like italian and mexican all at the same time.
Here is one more:
ReplyDelete1 package ramen noodles
1 small bag frozen vegetables
2 Tbsp peanut butter
Cook the noodles and vegetables in a saucepan, using just enough water to cover. Add peanut butter and the seasoning packet from the ramen noodles and cook until most of the water is gone. Oh yeah, you can add chicken to it in the first step as well or beef or whatever meat people eat.
And one more, because I remember that you guys like beef more than chicken.:
ReplyDelete1 pound cooked ground beef
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can of corn or green beans
1 box/pouch mashed potatoes
1 cup shredded cheese
Mix the meat, soup, and vegetable together. Layer in the bottom of a square baking dish. Spoon mashed potatoes on top and sprinkle with cheese. Bake for 20 min at 350F or until warm through.
Keep them coming! These are exactly the kinds of things I need!

1 cup of milk (not too much milk... cuz milk is gross!)
mix in bowl until the cereal gets soft and the marshmallows melt a bit in the cereal and mask the cow flavor of the milk

Take a package of Ramen and open. Eat uncooked like a giant cracker.
Not sure why... but the only way this is possible to eat Ramen this way is with Police Academy. Don't try this with the Rocky or Star Wars series. You WILL Throw up! (nobody knows why)
Mandy makes this killer shepard's pie with a layer of instant mashed potatoes, a layer of browned hamburger, a layer of green beans and then covered with a can of tomato sauce and cheese and bake for like 30 minutes. I will have to have her post the real recipe. Whenever I see that she has made that, I put on two hot pads, grab the pan and go sit in the corner and say to everyone else "I don't know what YOU are eating... but I am going to have this WHOLE pan for myself!"
I have this great recipe called Sheperds Pie. Don't let the Pie in the title confuse you. It's nothing like yummy pie. It's this recipe where you take all of these ingredients that are really good all by themselves, and you add them together, put it in a casserole dish, melt some cheese on the top, and abracadabra, just like magic, you have something really gross!!
